I began a little notebook of thoughts the day I brought Erics' ashes home to be with us until the ceremonial ~Closure~ at Freesoul Rock. The only way I could release the thoughts and feelings which wanted to pour out of me all jumbled upon each other, was to try shaping them into prose/poetry so that they would have form to hold them stationary long enough to be understood ..... That little notebook was with me for weeks. Sometimes I would change one word or add a few lines... begin a new ~topical aspect .... sometimes I would just read the words to find and try to understand my feelings and relate to life again. After a while, I transferred it to the computer so that I could more easily work with what I though of as my...ODE TO ERIC~

Over the next year, the work seemed to separate itself, of itself, into individual works with titles of their own. I'm going to copy it here to share with you. Many are very primitive and I'm not sure when , where (or if ever) they will end themselves. They are very personal and might not make much sense to those who didn't know Eric, or have not read his story. A few are finished. Mostly - it's still my way of taking out my feelings, emotions and thoughts and examining myself.... working my way through it all. ~ I offer it to you as an example of one tool anyone can use to do the same.
It works for me.
